(a) to provide the public, the travelling industry and the media with information on tourist facilities and tourist sites in their respective countries; U.S. trade in goods and services with Russia totaled $34.9 billion in 2019. Exports were $10.9 billion; Imports amounted to $24.0 billion. The U.S. trade deficit for goods and services with Russia was $13.1 billion in 2019. A second factor is the import substitution policy, which Russia has been implementing gradually since 2012 and which largely coincides with Russia`s accession to the WTO. WTO membership had raised hopes that trade with Russia would benefit from sustainable liberalization. Instead, Russia has gradually taken many steps to promote domestic products and services over foreign products and to encourage the location of production in Russia by foreign companies. Related measures are often contrary to the spirit and/or letter of WTO rules and are at the root of many trade stimuli. Since Russia joined the WTO in 2012, the EU has filed four WTO disputes against Russia: recognizing that the development of bilateral trade can contribute to better mutual understanding and cooperation, the United States recorded a surplus of services in services trade with Russia in 2019, an increase of 6.3% over 2018.

Considering the importance of intellectual property and the need for its legal protection for the promotion of trade and economic cooperation and the need to create more favourable conditions for adequate and effective legal protection of intellectual property and its application; the parties agreed to: a) ensure, in accordance with domestic legislation, the protection and implementation of intellectual property rights, including copyright in literary, scientific and artistic works, including computer programs and databases, patents and other rights to inventions and industrial designs, know-how, trade secrets, trademarks and service marks, trade names and protection from unfair competition; 6. The contracting parties acknowledge that the development of the market disruption protection provisions contained in this article does not affect the right of any of the contracting parties to apply the laws applicable to illicit trade.
